People's health, social and economic well-being are intimately related to their surroundings. Mataró is therefore organising the Nature Week initiative as part of the Nature Week of Catalonia, including activities held to raise awareness to the importance of taking care of the environment and the land.
Nature Week promotes activities around the conservation and discovery of nature and the environment with the aim of turning Mataró into a benchmark for Catalonia. It is an idea intended to promote and present all players in Mataró whose daily work is focused on taking care of the environment and which share their knowledge and their problems, such as environmental entities, natural parks, municipal councils, libraries, schools, companies, etc. The aim is also for citizens to discover the natural, agricultural, forest and maritime sites of Mataró in such a way as to encourage people to get to know nature, to connect with it and experience it in order to develop the need to take care of it.
