The Els Dolors chapel is one of the artistic treasures not to be missed if you are visiting Mataró. Along with the Sala de Juntes and the crypt, this extraordinary set of paintings, preserved in the Santa Maria Basilica, is one of the most important samples of Catalan Baroque and was created by Antoni Viladomat i Manalt, considered the best Catalan painter of the early eighteenth century.
