Lovers of the mountains and forests can go on an excursion on foot or by bike through the Parc del Montnegre i Corredor, with interesting spots such as Can Bruguera, the neighbourhood of Mata and the Parc Forestal, with its various viewpoints.
Mataró marks the start of the Camí del Nord or del Canigó (“Northern/Canigou Path”), the GR 83 long-distance path which joins the capital of Maresme to the town of Prades (Languedoc-Roussillon, France). It is 213 kilometres long and its most significant landmark is the summit of Mount Canigou, in the Eastern Pyrenees.
