“Cerdanyola Park”, which lies between Avinguda de la Gatassa and Avinguda de Josep Puig i Cadafalch, is also known as Parc de Can Tuñí, as this was once the site of a chemicals factory owned by the Tuñí family. A campaign by local residents won this space for public use and ended the problems of environmental contamination that it caused. Today, the park is an important green space with leisure activities for all: from pétanque for senior citizens to football for youngsters and swings for the kids.
Fruit and vegetable stalls set up here every Saturday, while a second-hand market takes place once a month. The park is also the venue for occasional concerts and other events.
The park also has facilities to promote leisure and health among senior citizens: a circuit of gentle exercises for the whole body, aimed at or improving general fitness.
Thanks to all these activities, Cerdanyola Park is the most popular green space in the neighbourhood!
