This is one of the most popular and ingrained traditions in Catalonia. Around the festival of Sant Antoni Abat (17 January), patron saint of domestic and farm animals, the Tres Tombs are celebrated with a parade around the city’s streets. Numerous carts and horses follow the route to the music of the Agrupació Musical del Maresme band. People can bring their pets to be blessed at a specific point along the way. The event is organised by the Ancient Brotherhood of Sant Antoni Abat, with the support of the Mataró City Council.
