Miquel Biada was the driving force behind the first railway on the Iberian Peninsula, which opened in 1848 with a route between Barcelona and Mataró. This guided tour takes you to places in the city connected with Biada’s life and offers an insight into his time and the revolution brought about by the arrival of the railway. The route begins at Mataró Town Hall with a visit to the Gallery of Illustrious Citizens and continues through several locations, including his birthplace, before reaching Plaça Miquel Biada, directly in front of the Renfe railway station.
