modernisme, rutes culturalsMataró is a city with a wealth of Modernist heritage: factories, markets, shops, houses and much more. This route will take you to the city’s most emblematic Modernist sites.

Highlights include the legacy of local architect, historian and politician Josep Puig i Cadafalch (Mercat del Rengle, Casa Coll i Regàs, the “La Confianza” shop...) and Antoni Gaudí’s first building, the only surviving remnant of the Mataró Workers’ Cooperative factory (La Obrera Mataronense), known as the “Nau Gaudí”.
