Sant Jordi is one of the most special days in our country. Popular culture, literature and roses are the protagonists. We invite you to enjoy the activities that have been programmed to live intensely these days full of culture.

 From 11.04.2024 to 16.05.2024 the figures can be seen in the City Hall

The institutional parade groups that start in the Sant Jordi events want to be at the Town Hall so that young and old can visit them. Monday to Friday from 8 am to 8.pm and Saturday from 8 am to 3 pm.

From 22 to 23 April in Santa Anna Square

Sant Jordi's Day is one of the most beautiful festivals of the year. To celebrate Sant Jordi's Day, the center of Mataró comes alive with rose stalls and eleven stalls selling books from Mataró's bookshops where you can choose from among the main novelties. A festival in which books and roses are the protagonists. 

Tuesday 23rd April

Diada castellera in front of the Town Hall at 19.00 h.

The Colla Castellera Capgrossos de Mataró will once again place their castles, towers and pillars in front of the Town Hall on this special day, Sant Jordi's Day.

Meeting of giants and dwarves from different places at 7 p.m.

.6:30 p.m.: Meeting of giants, giantesses and dwarfs in Plaça de la Brisa. Delivery of roses to the giantesses by the mayor. 7:00 p.m.: Start of the parade with the following route: Plaça de la Brisa, Carrer de Josep Anselm Clavé, Carrer de l’Esplanada, Plaça de Mossèn Blanch, Carrer d’Argüelles, Carrer Nou de Les Caputxines, Muralla dels Genovesos, La Riera to the City Hall. Then, in front of the City Hall: dancing.

.7pm. Start of the parade with the following route:  plaça de la Brisa, carrer de Josep Anselm Clavé, carrer de l’Esplanada, plaça de Mossèn Blanch, carrer d’Argüelles, carrer Nou de Les Caputxines, Muralla dels Genovesos, La Riera to City hall

Open doors of the Town Hall and guided tour from 10 am to 1 pm and from 3.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.

The councillors of the Town Hall will attend visits to the Town Hall. They will explain the history of the building and the activities that take place there. Visits aimed at citizens and organizations, with no need to book in advance.

La Fogonada from various places at 10 p.m. 

Parade of popular culture with theatrical actions to explain the Mataró adaptation of the legend of Sant Jordi, with the Dragon of Mataró as the main character. 

The streets of Mataró will once again be filled with magic and fire to explain to the people of Mataró the adaptation of the legend of Sant Jordi, with the Dragon of Mataró as the main character. In the squares, anyone who wants to can dance to the rhythm of the music with the traditional "voltafocs". At the end, the traditional music group La Coixinera will give a concert.

The route will be :Portal of Barcelona, Barcelona street, Peixateria square, Sant Cristòfor street, Xica square, Na Pau street, Beat Salvador square, Don Magí de Vilallonga street, Gran square, Beata Maria street, Santa Maria street, Santa Maria square, Nou street, La Riera, d'en Palau street and Ajuntament square.
Participants in the Fogonada must wear suitable clothing and footwear as it is an event with fire.

Sunday 26 April

XLVIII Giant storybook at the Patí del Cafè Nou from 11.30 to 14 h.

Once again this year, the Giant Book is back, one of the most traditional and genuine events of Sant Jordi in Mataró. Everyone is invited to bring their little stories from home and several artists and illustrators from the city will come to bring them to life with their strokes and colors. In this way, this year's Giant Book will be born.
